The Robotics Maker Lab
Looking for an exciting, hands-on experience that inspires creativity, builds confidence, and introduces young people to the world of future technology? The Robotics Maker Lab is an immersive, four-day programme designed to do exactly that.
Taking place during the May half-term (26 – 29 May 2026), this engaging course invites young people aged 11–17 to step into the role of engineers, designers and innovators. Hosted at the University of Hertfordshire, School of Physics, Engineering and Computer Science Technical Services Group, students will explore the fascinating world of robotics and innovation in a supportive and inspiring environment.
Throughout the programme, participants won’t just learn - they’ll create. From their very first session, students will dive into practical, hands-on activities, gaining real experience in robotics, coding, and fabrication. They will design, build, and program their own working prototypes, transforming ideas into tangible creations.
This is not a passive classroom experience. Instead, it’s an active, collaborative lab where curiosity is encouraged, experimentation is celebrated, and problem-solving skills are developed naturally. Whether your child is already passionate about technology or simply curious about how things work, this course is designed to ignite interest and unlock potential.
